Canon U.S.A., a leader in digital imaging solutions, has unveiled its imagePrograf TC-20M, a new large-format multifunction 4-colour pigment inkjet printer supporting both roll paper and cut-sheet media. Educators, retailers, hospitality/restaurant staff, graphic designers, office employees and others can easily print a wide variety of vivid, original large materials such as posters and banners in just a few short steps, said the OEM. Plus, users can breathe life into smaller printed originals (such as hand drawings, diagrams, and flyers) via the printer’s “enlarge copy” feature, for a variety of applications – from visual learning to creative review, to media and advertising. Canon added that travel agencies, museums and libraries, art studios, craft stores and religious organizations are other industries that can benefit from its new TC-20M Printer.
The compact, desktop printer is the first Canon imagePrograf large-format model equipped with an integrated Contact Imaging Sensor (CIS) flatbed scanner that assists in digitizing originals (to cloud or USB), while also offering the ability to produce enlarged copies of letter-size originals without the use of a computer. The TC-20M is designed for use in almost any environment, including home offices. It can print the most common document and poster sizes up to 24” x 36.” With a compact body and space-saving design, the printer can be placed on a desk or shelf, affording large-format printing capabilities even in tight spaces. All print-related operations can be performed from the front of the unit, including setting the roll or cut-sheet media, receiving printed materials, refilling ink, and replacing maintenance cartridges. Users can directly print PDF and JPEG files with the TC-20 M using a USB drive – no computer is needed. A large-capacity ink-tank system (bundled 70ml per colour) reduces the frequency of needing to refill. Plus, ink slots are colour-coded to prevent incorrect filling. Pigment ink improves durability, provides water-resistsnce and UV light resistance, reduces smudging, and improves colour stability.
