Canon launches world’s first large-format printer with aqueous pigment Fluorescent Pink ink

Canon ImagePrograf GP-2000

Canon’s new ImagePrograf GP Series is the world’s first large-format inkjet printer line with aqueous pigment Fluorescent Pink ink. The 24-inch GP-2000 is a 10-colour (R, O, G, V, PBK, MBK, C, M, Y, and GY) plus Fluorescent Pink ink large-format printer. Equipped with Canon’s unique Radiant Infusion, it layers the newly developed Fluorescent Pink ink with other inks on the paper surface during printing, creating bright and soft colour reproduction. With the new Red, Orange, Green, Violet, and Fluorescent Pink inks, the imagePrograf GP-2000 printer has the largest colour gamut of any imagePrograf printer to date, said the OEM. Other features include built in colour calibration, Intelligent Media Handling, and USB thumb-drive printing. The imagePrograf GP Series of printers are the world’s first “Pantone-calibrated” Pantone licensed for “Pantone Pasrels & Neons Guide Coated” – which includes fluorescent and pastel colours.

The technology can accurately hit 99% of the colours in the Pantone Formula Guide solid coated. Bundled with Canon’s poster-creation software, PosterArtist Lite users are able to create posters in four easy steps with license-free images and templates. The Radiant Infusion technology is integrated into PosterArtist Lite software, allowing creation of high-impact posters with ease. Additional software features include Professional Print & Layout, Accounting Manager and Device Management Console. The new printer is ideal for supporting in-house production of large-format prints with increased appeal and visibility in various industries such as retail, print-for-pay, entertainment industries, design offices and advertising agencies.
