PrismTech Graphics (Burnaby, BC) has added a 30” reconditioned Polar Cutter that’s “getting a workout every day” since being installed. “The guys are absolutely thrilled,” said PrismTech owner and CEO Paul Milburn. “We had a few early issues but we worked them out and the cutter is doing a great job for us.” PrismTech has grown from a small screen printer in 1994 to a full-service commercial operation with international customers. The machine complements a 57” Polar cutter currently in Milburn’s shop and is currently being used for precision trimming of smaller items such as retail shelf strips and decals. In fact, it can handle decals as small as 5/8” x 1”.
The printer’s largest account is a large national retail franchise chain with stores from British Columbia to Ontario. “We print between 10 and 10,000 impressions for the majority of the jobs, sometimes more,” Milburn said about the work that takes place inside his 35,000 square-foot facility. “The new cutter is also giving us the capability to take on more work.” PrismTech specializes in outdoor (posters and vinyl banners) and applied graphics – producing large wall, floor and window graphics as well as vehicle wraps.
Colter & Peterson (Paterson, NJ) is North America’s largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment. And while the company specializes in the manufacture of new machines, it has earned an industry-wide reputation for expertly rebuilding paper cutters.
