Labelcraft Products (Pickering, Ontario) has unveiled its new eco-friendly release liner – the Recyclable EnviroLiner. “The Recyclable EnviroLiner is the first liner of its kind, and the innovative release design is made of 100% recycled material, which can be recycled in local facilities. The Recyclable EnviroLiner can be used in a variety of face stocks including gloss, thermal transfer, EDP and direct thermal,” said the company. Traditionally, release liners have been unrecyclable because they’re coated in large amounts of silicone. However, after many years of research and development, Labelcraft has overcome this issue. Its new Recyclable EnviroLiner is made of 100% recycled paper and can be recycled in local facilities. The product also allows converters to use standard presses – and customers to use their standard printers. “The Recyclable EnviroLiner is a testament to Labelcraft’s total commitment to sustainability and environmental preservation,” the company added. “While the label industry has traditionally not been a leader in sustainability, the Recyclable EnviroLiner is a critical turning point. In North America, it’s estimated that nearly 1,200,000 tons of liners are dumped into landfills annually. The Recyclable EnviroLiner is the first product that will allow suppliers and customers to work towards 100% landfill-free facilities.” Labelcraft was established in 1967 and manufactures industrial labels and custom-printed promotional products.
