Spicers Canada (Vaughan, Ontario), a leading Canadian distributor of paper and specialty products, graphic systems and solutions, and packaging and facility solutions, has announced the immediate acquisition of Duroflex Specialty Papers (Mississauga, Ontario), a respected distributor of specialty products to the printing and graphic arts industry. The privately owned company has operated for over 22 years with a focus on delivering unique product solutions and service excellence with a continuous dedication to its customers’ distinct needs.
“Acquiring Duroflex will extend available solutions within our paper and specialty product segments, benefitting both companies’ customer and supply partners,” said Cory Turner, President of Spicers Canada. Turner added that the acquisition of Duroflex fits with the organization’s strategy to continue to focus on its core strength as a respected partner to Canada’s printing and graphic arts industry, while identifying opportunities to expand its customer base and deliver comprehensive solutions across multiple product categories.
Duroflex President Kevin Gibb added: “This is a win-win for all parties. Our customers will continue to be serviced with our commitment and standards of excellence, and now they’ll have a wider range of products and services that they can access in this ever-changing industry.” Duroflex will initially operate independently while determining how best to align its customers’ needs to Spicers logistics capabilities across its extensive distribution platform. Spicers operates from 21 strategically located sales and distribution sites across Canada, is represented by over 600 employees, and has a long and respected history that dates back over a century. The company today is uniquely positioned to deliver relevant product solutions quickly and effectively to multiple customer markets.
