Owners Christine Yardley and Alan Dryburgh of Print Panther (Oakville, ON) have added a new Duplo DPC 600 Digital Die Cutter and a Morgana BM 5050 Landscape Bookletmaker to their finishing department from print-finishing specialist Sydney Stone (Mississauga, ON). “The addition of both of these machines has allowed Print Panther to continue its quest to offer the highest quality output, and most importantly, meet the specialized needs of each one of our clients,” said Dryburgh. The DPC-600 is designed for producing short-run packaging, pocket folders, foam board displays, face shields, and so much more. Featuring smart technology without any physical dies required, it handles large media up to 23” x 31” and can cut, kiss cut, score, and perforate in one pass. It comes standard with press cut, active, and drag knives as well as scoring and perforation wheels to process paper, PET plastics, adhesive stock, corrugated, chip and foam boards up to 6 mm.
With an increasing number of printing systems available to handle larger cut-sheet sizes, U.S. letter landscape and oversize booklets can now be produced easily and cost-effectively on Print Panther’s New Morgana BM 5050 bookletmaker. The new BM 5050 Series delivers these new applications by handling up to 24.5-inch-long sheets and can be configured to process a 35-sheet or 50-sheet (200-page) stitched book that is square folded and trimmed. Sydney Stone was established in 1951, and since that time, has grown to become one of the premier Canadian distributors of print-finishing equipment and supplies throughout the world – importing and representing major brands such as Duplo, Morgana, MOHR, EBA, Vivid and Watkiss, to name just a few. With a focus on the short-run and medium-run print market, Sydney Stone offers solutions specific to the challenges found in this popular industry segment.
