The PMMI Foundation (Las Vegas, Nevada), part of PMMI (The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies) and organizer of the annual Pack Expo and co-located Healthcare Packaging Expo tradeshow, has awarded six $5,000 Pack Expo Scholarships to students from PMMI Education Partner schools. To qualify for the scholarships, students must be enrolled at an Education Partner institution, major in engineering, packaging, processing, mechatronics or a related field, and must demonstrate a financial need.
Zoe Statiris, the only Canadian winner, is a Graphic Designer at StyleCircle who’s entering her third year of Graphic Communications Management at Toronto’s Ryerson University. She loves to explore layered forms and shapes, as well as playful colour palettes to create compelling imagery. Past projects Statiris has worked on include a series of paintings funded by a CUE grant, graphic design work for the Future of Film Showcase, and digital illustrations for the Marli Digital Challenge. Statiris loves the collaborative nature of the graphic design community and is always open to working with other artists and designers.
“This scholarship program shows how PMMI invests in the future packaging workforce,” said Jim Pittas, President and CEO at PMMI. “We’re proud that through the Pack Expo portfolio of tradeshows and the Pack Expo Scholarship Program, we’re able to invest in the future of the packaging and processing community.”
